SEPARATING THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL
THE HIDDEN MEANING
This next scripture identifies my foundation growing up in my family, considered by many as “Home Training.” One who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 1Timothy 3: 4-7 KNJV
REVERENCE – The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. Psalm 111: 10 NIV
Proverbs 9: 10 – To be wise you must first have reverence for the LORD. If you know the Holy One, you have understanding. GNT
Proper Respect – I were introduced to this type of dignity from my father at an early age, after watching a black boxer known for knocking opponents out, but better known by the news advocates as illiterate. In preparation to the interview, the boxing reporter pointed out the inability to speak properly. While embarrassingly laughing at this action or fact of treating someone unfairly in order to benefit from their work, my father slapped the back of head and explained to me how important it is to be proud of anyone doing anything positive, no matter whom they are. In today’s climate, I believe that it’s very important to address each person properly with no acceptions, to be valued and respected for their own sake, and to be treated ethically. It is of significance in morality, ethics, law and politics as an extension of the Enlightenment from God.
