SEPARATING THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL
THE HIDDEN MEANING

INTRODUCTION
In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe is a metaphor for the Spirit that meets people’s thirst for life in relationship with God. This is He who came by water and blood – Immanuel; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us Eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5: 6-13 NKJV
Biblical Word
WATER – Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Immanuel, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1: 26-30 NIV
Reference
Romans 4: 3-6 – The scripture says, “Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous.” A person who works is paid wages, but they are not regarded as a gift; they are something that has been earned. But those who depend on faith, not on deeds, and who believe in the God who declares the guilty to be innocent, it is this faith that God takes into account in order to put them right with himself. This is what David meant when he spoke of the happiness of the person whom God accepts as righteous, apart from anything that person does: GNT
Significance
Righteousness (The Spirit of God) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe the blood is grace; the water is a gift and; the Holy Spirit keep us in faith and pours us out into the world, so others may also hear and believe. We will understand our faith, and our place in Immanuel, to be a gift from God. We will know that it is Immanuel, who is the wisdom of God in human form. He is the One who made it possible for us to be declared righteous by God, because we are in Immanuel and He is righteous. That gracious gift of God to everyone, whereby all who believe in the name Immanuel (God is with us), are brought into a right relationship with God.
