INTRODUCTION

     In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe is someone who has overcome temptation and the world, through faith in the one whom God chose and sent as Savior and Lord, and who has remained faithful through difficult times. “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.” His disciples said to Him, “See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God.” Immanuel answered them, “Do you now believe? Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16: 25-33 NKJV

Biblical Word

     VICTORY – Who shall separate us from the love of Immanuel? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Immanuel our Lord. Romans 8: 35-39 NIV

     1 John 4: 4-6 – But you belong to God, my children, and have defeated the false prophets, because the Spirit who is in you is more powerful than the spirit in those who belong to the world. Those false prophets speak about matters of the world, and the world listens to them because they belong to the world. But we belong to God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever does not belong to God does not listen to us. This, then, is how we can tell the difference between the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. GNT

Significance

     Overcomer (It is the renewing of the inner person, through daily contact with God that enables us to change from within) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe the real changes we effect in our lives must not come from the outside in; rather, they must come from the inside out, through the added dimension of God’s Holy Spirit. Overcomers transform their life by allowing the Holy Spirit to landscape their minds through the study of the Word of God. They enlighten their mind in order to be able to recognize the enemy, fight him with God’s power and with Scriptural truth.
