SEPARATING THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL

THE HIDDEN MEANING

GOD HATES A LIAR (This is the truth)

INTRODUCTION

In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe is much more than just acknowledging wrongdoings, it is a change of mind and heart that gives us a fresh view about God, about ourselves, and about society today. The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying: “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the LORD. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it. Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.”’” Jeremiah 18: 1-11 NKJV

Biblical Word

CONFESS – Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it – I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while – yet now I am happy, now because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. 2 Corinthians 7: 8-11 NIV

Reference

Genesis 6: 5-8 – When the LORD saw how wicked everyone on earth was and how evil their thoughts were all the time, he was sorry that he had ever made them and put them on the earth. He was so filled with regret that he said, “I will wipe out these people I have created, and also the animals and the birds, because I am sorry that I made any of them.” But the LORD was pleased with Noah. GNT

Significance

Genuine Sorrow (When the Holy Spirit places a sadness upon your mind and conscience, and tells you that something is not right) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe it is not a self-focused sorrow that leads to regret but sadness that fully releases people of faith from the guilt and shame. If you describe a person as genuine, you approve of them because they are honest, truthful, and sincere in the way they live and in their relationships with other people. Genuine things are true and authentic. When you’re talking about people, being genuine has to do with being sincere – having to do with things and people that are honest with themselves and with others, and take responsibility for their mistakes.
