SEPARATING THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL
THE HIDDEN MEANING

INTRODUCTION
In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe refer to love rooted in a spiritual connection that helps us find meaning and purpose in our lives. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-13 NKJV
Biblical Word
LOVE – So the sisters sent word to Immanuel, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” Immanuel loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days. Then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.” So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” John 11: 3, 5-6, 14-15 NIV
Reference
Acts 13: 22-23 – After removing him, God made David their king. This is what God said about him: I have found that David son of Jesse is the kind of man I like, a man who will do all I want him to do. It was Immanuel, a descendant of David, whom God made the Savior of the people of Israel, as he had promised. GNT
Significance
Affirmation (a statement of truth which one aspires to absorb into his life.) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe the LORD – and the LORD alone – is our God. Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Never forget these commands that I am giving you today. For this reason I remind you to keep alive the gift that God gave you. For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.
