INTRODUCTION

     In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe faith is the means by which this spiritual union with Immanuel, is established and maintained. “… If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” John 3: 12-21 NKJV

Biblical Word

     ETERNAL LIFE – Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Immanuel is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 9-14 NIV

     2 Corinthians 5: 16-20 – No longer, then, do we judge anyone by human standards. Even if at one time we judged Immanuel according to human standards, we no longer do so. Anyone who is joined to Immanuel is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come. All this is done by God, who through Immanuel changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also. Our message is that God was making all human beings his friends through Immanuel. God did not keep an account of their sins, and he has given us the message which tells how he makes them his friends. Here we are, then, speaking for Immanuel, as though God himself were making his appeal through us. We plead on Immanuel’s behalf: let God change you from enemies into his friends! Immanuel was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God. GNT

Significance

     Spiritually Alive (To be in union with God) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God, which is ours through Immanuel. For since we have become one with Him in dying as He did, in the same way we shall be one with Him by being raised to life as He was. God has the power to change us from the inside out. When you find yourself thinking differently, desiring new things, or showing character traits of God, that’s a sign of His work in your life. The moment we believed in His name Immanuel (God with us), we were brought into a shared experience with Him.
