INTRODUCTION

     In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe is about God becoming human and dying our death and rising to a new spiritual life – and sending the Holy Spirit to empower us to do the same. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Immanuel, he is not His. And if Immanuel is in you, the body is dead because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Immanuel from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Immanuel from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors – not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and joint heirs with Immanuel, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8: 6 – 17 NKJV

     SALVATION – I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1: 3 – 7 NIV

     Titus 1: 10 – 16 – For there are many, especially the converts from Judaism, who rebel and deceive others with their nonsense. It is necessary to stop their talk, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching what they should not, and all for the shameful purpose of making money. It was a Cretan himself, one of their own prophets, who spoke the truth when he said, “Cretans are always liars, wicked beasts, and lazy gluttons.” For this reason you must rebuke them sharply, so that they may have a healthy faith and no longer hold on to Jewish legends and to human commandments which come from people who have rejected the truth. Everything is pure to those who are themselves pure; but nothing is pure to those who are defiled and unbelieving, for their minds and consciences have been defiled. They claim that they know God, but their actions deny it. They are hateful and disobedient, not fit to do anything good. GNT

Significance

     The Spirit of God (Our mind & conscience) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe is a reminder that our fundamental spiritual nature, gifted by God, isn’t rooted in fear. We’re called to respond to challenges not with anxiety and despair but with unity, love, and a clear conscience. We are instructed to not act in fear or be irrationally minded, but instead, to live as God wants and will always do what pleases Him, and be reasonable in our thoughts and ways. He has given us a mind that has been delivered, rescued, revived, salvaged, protected, and brought into a place of safety and security so that it is no longer affected by illogical, unfounded, and absurd thoughts.
