SEPARATING THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL
THE HIDDEN MEANING

INTRODUCTION
In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe describes the mindset of believing you deserve special treatment without earning it is a form of spiritual pride and ego, which blocks gratitude, contentment, and a healthy relationship with a higher power. Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth, and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. Genesis 11: 1-9 NKJV
Biblical Word
TOWER OF BABEL – Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2: 3-4 NIV
Reference
Romans 12: 2-3 – Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God – what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect. And because of God’s gracious gift to me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you should. Instead, be modest in your thinking, and judge yourself according to the amount of faith that God has given you. GNT
Significance
A Sense of Entitlement (Privilege) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe is referring to this feeling of deservingness itself, often characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance and a belief that one is owed something without necessarily earning it. It’s an attitude or state of mind characterized by a feeling of superiority and a belief that one is entitled to special treatment or privileges. Therefore, individuals with God-given advantages, like wealth, talent, or influence, are called to use them humbly and selflessly to care for the needy, actively challenging and disrupting unjust or harmful systems by living out a completely different, more just way of life.
