SEPARATING THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL
THE HIDDEN MEANING
In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ share our ethical theory in which individuals are accountable for fulfilling their civic duty, and the actions of an individual must benefit the whole society. Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Immanuel, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. 1 Corinthians 8: 4-6 NKJV
GOD – … In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him. But we see Immanuel, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. Hebrews 2: 8-10 NIV
Romans 11: 33-36 – How great are God’s riches! How deep are his wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain his decisions? Who can understand his ways? As the scripture says, “Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who is able to give him advice? Who has ever given him anything, so that he had to pay it back?” For all things were created by him, and all things exist through him and for him. To God be the glory forever! Amen. GNT
Source of All Moral Obligation – We at VAL-TE’ also believe God is, by definition, the greatest conceivable being. If anything was greater than God, then that would be God. If He only exists in the mind, then something greater than God could be conceived; namely, a God who exists in the mind and reality as well.
