SEPARATING THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL

THE HIDDEN MEANING

INTRODUCTION

In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ share our perspective relating to the ideas, customs, and social behavior of a society. Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the healing of faith? – just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”  Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Galatians 3: 5-9 NKJV

Biblical Word

NATION – But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2: 9-10 NIV

Reference

Genesis 11: 5-9 – Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which they had built, and he said, “Now then, these are all one people and they speak one language; this is just the beginning of what they are going to do. Soon they will be able to do anything they want. Let us go down and mix up their language so that they will not understand each other. So the LORD scattered them all over the earth, and they stopped building the city. The city was called Babylon, because there the LORD mixed up the language of all the people, and from there he scattered them all over the earth. GNT

Significance

Cultural Awareness – We at VAL-TE’ believe an understanding of culture requires an understanding not only of language differences, but also differences in knowledge, perceptions, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. For God’s promise was made to you and your children, and to all who are far away – all whom the Lord our God calls to himself.
