THE HIDDEN MEANING
INTRODUCTION
In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe He felt pain and fear exactly like any normal person, but He chose to trust God’s bigger plan over His own survival. Then Immanuel came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy, So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand. Matthew 26: 36-46 NKJV

HUMAN INSTINCTS – Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity And those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Hebrews 5: 7-8 – In his life on earth Immanuel made his prayers and requests with loud cries and tears to God, who could save him from death. Because he was humble and devoted, God heard him. But even though he was God’s Son, he learned through his sufferings to be obedient. GNT
Significance
The Human Experience (Hell on Earth) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe it means He proved and fully realized His role in time through real-world prejudices. It means having every reason to run away in our emotions, but choosing to stay and do the right thing because we trust in the ultimate goal. As Immanuel (God with us), He always knew what He had to do – although, by being born of the flesh and suffering as a human being, He had absolutely no knowledge of all that it took to do it. He can definitely relate to human struggles, making Him the ultimate source of a guarantee of a fresh start now and a secure future after this life ends.
