INTRODUCTION

In these next scriptures, we at VAL-TE’ believe was not physical death, but spiritual death – the immediate result of Adam and Eve’s decision to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, specifically believing the serpent’s lie “you will surely not die.” And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Immanuel (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Immanuel, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Immanuel. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Immanuel for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Therefore remember that you, once Gentile in the flesh – who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh – by hands – that at that time you were without Immanuel, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Immanuel you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Immanuel. For He himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Ephesians 2: 1-18 NKJV

Biblical Word

ADAM – When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days – and also afterward – when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth – men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air – for I am grieved that I have made them. Genesis 6: 1-7 NIV

Reference

Colossians 2: 9-15 – For the full content of divine nature lives in Immanuel, in his humanity, and you have been given full life in union with him. He is supreme over every spiritual ruler and authority. In union with Immanuel you were circumcised, not with the circumcision that is made by human beings, but with the circumcision made by Immanuel, which consists of being freed from the power of this sinful self. For when you were baptized, you were buried with Immanuel, and in baptism you were also raised with Immanuel through your faith in the active power of God, who raised him from death. You were at one time spiritually dead because of your sins and because you were Gentiles without the Law. But God has now brought you to life with Immanuel. God forgave us all our sins; he canceled the unfavorable record of our debts with its binding rules and did away with it completely by nailing it to the cross. And on that cross Immanuel freed himself from the power of the spiritual rulers and authorities; he made a public spectacle of them by leading them as captives in his victory procession. GNT

Significance

Spiritual Separation from God (The Human Experience) – We at VAL-TE’ also believe when Adam and Eve believed Satan over God, they were driven from the presence of God, thus teaching us that spiritual death is a separation of man from God. This separation is not merely physical distance, but a spiritual barrier affecting the relationship with God. Any deliberate act, thought, or attitude that goes against what is considered right or good distorts our connection, hindering the ability to experience God’s presence and blessings. Implies a lack of a right relationship, fellowship, or connection with God, often because of actions or choices that are seen as wrong or unacceptable to Him. Even though it looks like you are separated, you are always connected. God or consciousness is always a whole, it is One.
